Inside Look: Research
My research experiences are the biggest reason why I selected "Reverse Engineering the Brain" as my Grand Challenge. I began research in the field of computational neuroscience at the University of Maryland - School of Dentistry under Dr. Radi Masri and quickly became fascinated with its plethora of applications, specifically in the area of preventing neuro-degenerative disorders. The goal of this research project is to interpret data gathered from an endoscope recording neuronal activity in the brain in order to characterize the behavior of a mouse in reaction to various stimuli.
